In most cases, the materials in Table 1 are applied, and they have already been standardized in this catalog for various shapes of punches. In recent years, with the progress of product precision and diversification, cost reduction is stressed, and the selection of punch material is specified. This has greatly increased the demand of【coating punches】, which can maintain high price performance ratio and wearability. And for this trend, Punch Industry has standardized TiCN coating for the materials in Table 1. However, for customers who never or rarely tried coating punches, it is very difficult to select the ones with high price performance ratio. So, past experience and quantitative measurement is necessary. In order to solve this problem, Punch Industry developed an experiment for coating punches, and figured out the technical data for punch selection according to the comparison of wearability. In the punching experiment, special mold is manufactured, and cold-rolled steel plate(SPCC)is applied as working piece. On the other hand, 3 kinds of general punch materials are selected, combined with・without TiCN coating.
