When use the Vickers Hardness Test(Test load 50g)for measuring thehardness of base material, values in( )are the norms. The coating methods which can be used as norms are:TiCN(Titanium carbonitride),TiN(Titanium nitride),CrN (Chromium nitride). The coating treatments (TiC Titanium carbonization, est.) which use the chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method are available either. Fcoating is one of the conventional PVD(Physical vapor deposition)methods. Fcoating significantly improved the adhesive of coated film and impact resistance, and enhanced the durability of coating layer. The Fcoating is a new kind of composite surface treatment The base material of the product is strengthened by physical vapor deposition(PVD) method, which raising the adhesive performance of the TiCN film. The Fcoating could bring the excellent operational performance in punching high tensile material and stainless steel.Deatails P.1108TiCN(Titanium carbonitride)The coating layer has the feature of both high hardness of TiC(Titanium carbonization)and toughness of(Titanium nitride), which they are inversely proportional to each other, so the relationship of hardness and toughness is depend on content ratio of C(Carbon)and N(Nitrogen). PUNCH Industry can set the proportion of C and N according to specific purposes, and enhance the TiCN coating layer’s performance, which TiC or TiN can not reach. The surface hardness could reach 3000HV which is higher than TiC and also the coating layer has the effectiveness of multi-layer composite film. TiCN has been widely used in the punching operations which require higher hardness and lower friction coefficient, such as cutting tools (For processing the materials such as SUS), ejector punches, and forming mold. Deatails P.1112Because of the large range of coating temperature, TiN has been widely applied as a kind of typical PVD method. The toughness of TiN is higher than TiC, and the blade sharpness will not be reduced. So, this treatment has been widely applied for cutting tools. Low treating temperature will not lower the hardness of base material and also its shape will not be deformed. This treatment is particularly suitable for the base material which its quenching temperature is higher than treating temperature.
